The Shift Supervisor reports to the Plant Co-ordinator or Plant Manager and is responsible for the organisation of their shifts and assuring a professional high standard of service is maintained.Activities
- Ensure that all team members work in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the G&P and OEM HS&E requirements.
- Ensure that their team have the appropriate training and understanding to assure the right first time delivery of the required projects in a professional and cost efficient manner.
- Overall responsibility for the correct set up of projects ensuring the required Test and authorisation document are clearly documented and agreed.
- Overall responsibility for the control of resource in the shift to ensure maximum utilisation thereby reducing standby/inefficiency [e.g. sign in/out discipline maintained, continuous line working as required, agency manning controlled].
- Responsible for the set up of Customer projects ensuring the contract agreements are clearly documented and formally agreed between G&P and the Customer.
- Ensuring that any Customer request for Specialist Support, Auto Mechanical / Electrical / Retrofit / Repair work is raised with the G&P Rework Manager, Specialist Projects Manager / Technical Team to ensure scope of activities are fully captured and delivered to, thereby meeting Customer requirements in full, on time, right first time as a Managed Service.
- Monitor ongoing G&P activities during their shifts to ensure that any potential concerns are identified and immediately resolved to the mutual satisfaction of all parties.
- Support the Plant Manager in the recruitment, induction, appraisal and development of the Team Leaders and Inspection teams.
- Support the Plant Manager in achievement of Plant KPIs.
- Work with G&P Quality Department to resolve immediately any issues found in layered audits.
- Ensure the accurate and timely creation of the required OEM and G&P reports to support the above activities (including but not limited to Project paperwork, Shift reports, skills/training updates, utilisation planners and accident reports).
- Any other duties for which the Shift manager holds the appropriate skills.

- Manage a team of skilled/non-skilled 10+,
- Manufacturing experience (automotive, logistics, aerospace, FMCG, pharma),
- Experience of implementing processes and effectively managing teams to work effectively to standard processes,
- Customer facing experience,
- Superb communication,
- Advanced use of English language,
- Basic computer skills/experience with in-house systems.
