- Work environment - you will be working at the Communication Center located within the BMW Group Plant Debrecen, in a modern, digitalized, open office-style environment, together with other office employees and your direct teammates. The Communication Center is a state-of-the-art office space equipped with kitchenettes, coffee stations, and ergonomic workstations, and also includes a company cafeteria.
- Team - as a member of our Customs Team you'll be working in an international environment. Locally the team consists of around 5 people, but you will be a member of the bigger finance organization of Plant Debrecen.
- Core Responsibilities - setting up, reviewing and developing processes and partnering with local authorities, as well as internal stakeholders to keep our Customs Management harmonized with the Hungarian legal requirements.
- Compliance & Licensing - maintaining proper import and export conditions to ensure the Plant- and Customer supply, ensuring the legally compliant and timely submission of customs (and some other tax relevant) declarations, CBAM reports, export control related reports. Supporting the customs licence application process, including economical customs regimes; active contribution to customs audits.
- Reporting & Documentation - contributing to the Customs Team in the daily customs operation and clearances, prepare the periodical supplementary declarations and financial statements under the customs law, including the payment requests.
- Coordination - operational management of external service providers and assurance of proper quality of customs processes.
- Advisory role - advising internal and external process partners and stakeholders, cooperating with other departments in all customs-related questions. Providing information to all levels of the hierarchy for supporting decision-making processes.
- Education - Professional Customs Expert Qualification issued by the Hungarian customs authorities is preferred. A university degree in Economics, International Trade, or a similar field is considered a plus.
- Experience - 5-10 years of experience in customs operations, ideally within the private sector (e.g., multinational company or customs brokerage).
- Work schedule - you follow a standard single-shift schedule and manage your tasks independently.
- Knowledge - in-depth understanding of the European Union Customs Code and customs procedures.
- Technical Skills - experience working with Hungarian customs software (e.g., Regens, KompaktZoll, Mindsoft); SAP GTS knowledge is an advantage. Knowledge in Intrastat-, Environmental Protection Product Fee-, Extended Producer Responsibility-, CBAM reporting is an advantage.
