The team focuses on the provision of corporate services with a professional and personalised touch to corporate clients worldwide.Due to the growth of our business, we are looking for highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our team in Budapest.Summary of role:Provide EU VAT and UK Tax compliance support to clients for the Tax Team by working with colleagues across Apex Corporate and Business Services and liaising with the wider Apex Group. Reports to the VAT Manager (based in Budapest).Job Specification

Preparation and/or review of internal and client VAT returns, VAT registrations, VAT refund claims - currently in UK and Ireland (with future EU expansion in scope)
Assisting VAT Managers on internal and client related work and processes
Participation in the preparation, handling and/or supervision of Tax Authority inspections/enquiries etc.
Support VAT compliance and advisory services to clients
Assist wider Apex teams with VAT compliance issues
Participation in VAT initiatives to improve firmwide VAT awareness (training Accounts Payable staff, etc.)
Actively monitor areas of improvement, raise issues
Future expansion to wider Tax field (UK Corporate and Business tax returns, UK Personal Tax returns; Form P11D and PSA returns)

Key competencies:

Some experience of VAT is preferable and any professional qualification in this field is ideal;
Experience of dealing directly with tax authorities (ideally HMRC but not essential);
Good team player with high degree of accuracy and attention to details;
Excellent communication and presentation skills;
Proficient at using Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
Excellent English â verbal and written.
