- Define and implement the technology strategy for website development, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Establish governance frameworks for measuring and improving code quality, deployment cycle times and roadmap progress.
- Implement and enforce engineering principles and standards across the various teams.
- Coordinate work for the current flagship digital project of Wizz Air, with a focus on website developments.
- Ensure that the e-commerce website meets or exceeds quality standards, aligns with organizational goals, and business requirements are delivered within budget and specified timelines.
- Establish and monitor key metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of website development activities.
- Coordinate regular training sessions for business users.
- Perform assessments and benchmarking across the engineering teams.
- Direct management of 30+ external resources.
- Manage budget, time, and developer resources.
- Manage multiple vendors and participate in IT tenders.
- Build strong partnerships across departments, ensuring digital initiatives align with broader organizational goals and stakeholder expectations
- Responsible for the yearly and quarterly budgeting process.
- Form and manage engineering strategy.
- Actively seek opportunities, embracing the ideation process to leverage the possibilities.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in software development, with significant experience in e-commerce website development.
- Thrilled in delivering stable, scalable and sustainable solutions all the time.
- At least 3 years in a leadership/manager role.
- Experience with public cloud providers: AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP.
- University or college degree.
- Experience in managing a developer team, preferably including vendor management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to cooperate with a variety of stakeholders, team player personality.
- Dedication, positivity, integrity, and inclusivity.
- Good project management skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for custom build software solutions.
- Ability to live and work in Budapest, Hungary.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
