This is a place to make a difference in the world.The Role & What You Will Be DoingAre you an experienced payroll specialist with a good understanding of payroll flow and related finance processes? We are seeking an experienced, detailed oriented and proactive Senior Payroll Specialist to manage and oversee the German payroll. This role ensures full compliance with German tax and labor law regulations and serves as a subject matter expert on payroll queries and coordination. You will collaborate with many departments including HR, Finance (e.g. AP, VAT, Tax team), German payroll team members and external payroll provider to ensure accurate, timely and compliant processing of German payroll.Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Collect, organize and review payroll inputs from various internal sources, to ensure accurate payroll processing for (multiple) payrolls during the month, consolidate them by the payroll closing and share it with the payroll provider and managing system updates if required
  • Check and validate the monthly payroll output file based on the inputs, processing necessary changes and sending the final, checked and accurate payroll data for approval
  • Handling all payroll related queries coming from the employees during the month. First point of contact for employees for any payroll related questions
  • First point of contact for the payroll vendor. Daily cooperation and collaboration with the vendor.
  • Collaborating with contact departments such as local HR members, People Solution Center, Finance Teams and the payroll provider in order to make sure 100% accurate and smooth payroll for each month
  • Overview and forward accounting files to finance and be able to answer for basic accounting questions
  • Prepare and submitting tax and social security information
  • Knowledge of pension systems and ownership and responsibility on this process
  • Participate in special projects and other payroll duties as assigned
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) or minimum of 2-3 years of experience in similar field, however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Knowledge of international payroll processes, experience in SSC payroll environment is essential.
  • Knowledge of payroll and finance applications, particularly in shared service operations such SAP or Loga P&I is required
  • German payroll experience is an advantage
  • Must possess a strong focus on customer service with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management and external vendors via multiple sources such as telephone, email, etc.
  • Must possess the ability to learn and retain information related to HR Programs, Policies and Procedures
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple priorities that requires decision-making capabilities
  • Strong excel skills and ability to analyze and interpret and present data
  • Open to learn other markets as well
  • English and German languages are required. Ability to read and interpret business and/or technical documents. Ability to work with managers or directors and communicate ambiguous concepts.
